What Have You Learned?
These are truly strange and unprecedented times that we are living in. As mentioned before, I certainly didn’t think I would see anything like this in my lifetime. And yet…here we are.
I have learned a lot about myself during this time of staying at home…a lot in the past month and then some. I wondered if you have too!
Here are some of the things I have learned:
- I take a lot of things for granted. The ability to just run to the store and know that I will find the shelves stocked with whatever item I was looking for…toilet paper, pasta, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. Those items and many more have always been readily available whenever I wanted or needed to buy them. It has been really odd to see complete sections of the shelves cleared out of some of these items. I am hoping that in the future, I will remember this time and not take anything for granted.
- I can be sooooo lazy. There are some days that I am a rock star at getting some things done and there are other days that I flit from one thing to another and really don’t get anything done. I also realized that there are some projects that just don’t want to do. I always thought that putting off these projects were because I just don’t have the time. Well, I have had the time and there are projects that still haven’t been done. Eventually, they will get done…I hope!
- I do better with structure in my life. Again, my days are different than when I am doing massages in my office. When I am busy at my office then I know that I have only this much time to do X, Y or Z when I get home and I usually get them done. During this time it is different. Refer back to “I can be sooooo lazy”.
- I am a self-proclaimed home-body, but this has been difficult even for me, which is surprising. My home is my haven, I love to be home. What I have realized during this is: Yes, I love to be home, but I also want to be able to go out to eat or get together with friends or family or to run to the store whenever I want.
These are just a few things that I have learned during this time. I am eternally grateful that I have the things that I need, that I am healthy and safe. I know there are people that aren’t so fortunate. I try to remind myself of those things on a daily basis.
Please stay safe and healthy! I look forward to seeing you again when I am opened back up. Take care of you and your family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you during this time.
