Is Your Check Engine Light On?
Take a good look at the images above. How do they make you feel?
I’m pretty sure each of those images will cause you to take some sort of action, right?
With the low battery indicator on your phone, I am certain that you would immediately plug it in and get it charged up (that is if you ever let it get that low).
Maybe you are brave and daring about the low fuel indicator. Maybe you’ve been there before and know just how many more miles you can go before you really run out of gas.
And the check engine light? Ok, you may take a little bit longer to take it in to get it checked out, but I bet you would at some point within the next couple of weeks.
You see, all of those things remind you that something needs to be taken care of…sooner rather than later.
But what about YOU? Last time I checked, no one I know has a low battery indicator, low fuel light, or check engine light that reminds you it’s time to take some sort of action. Those lights or indicators might not be showing up blatantly on your forehead as a reminder when you look in the mirror, but you do have some warnings, don’t you?
How about that run-down feeling you have? Maybe the slight headache that has been hanging around for a few days? The scratchy throat? The project that you would love to do, but just don’t have the energy to do it?
I know, I know, you’re a busy person and things need to get done and you don’t have time to be sick or tired or not do things on your to-do list. There’s no time, right?
But here’s the thing, I read a quote recently, and I wish I knew who wrote it but it says: “If you don’t make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness.”
So that scratchy throat now becomes a full-blown cold and possibly pneumonia. That headache becomes a full-blown migraine that puts you in bed for at least a day or maybe more.
Do you see where I’m going with this? If you don’t take some time to take care of yourself, your body will force you to take some time. Again you don’t have the low battery/low fuel indicator or check engine light, but you do have some indicators that you need to take some time to refuel, recharge, and recalibrate yourself.
Massage is a great way to help with all of those things. If you aren’t already on my schedule, please make an appointment with me soon. You can do so at In Harmony Therapeutic Massage and click on Make An Appointment.
I promise you there is no better time spent than helping yourself recharge, relax and refuel.
